Celebrating CCU 53rd Anniversary

On 1st of March 2015, Chinese Culture University is going to celebrate its 53rd anniversary. Every year, faculty and staff, CCU Alumni and Sister Universities’ representatives are getting together to enjoy the festive atmosphere on Yang Ming Shan campus. The Grand Opening will be preceded by an honorary salute to the Founder’s Memorial Garden at 9:10am, before the guests assemble in Bo-Ying hall on 8th floor of Da Xiao building, for the ceremony to begin at 10.00am. Awards and gratitude will be presented for outstanding performances of faculty and students, generous provision of scholarship funds, as well as for engagement in the sector of environmental protection. The great arena on 2nd floor will then be converted into a huge dining hall for everyone to indulge in a delicious luncheon from 12:00-2.00pm. Besides, a broad range of activities invites all guests to learn more about CCU and the Hwa Kang community culture from 9:00-4:00pm: In its galleries on floors 1, 3 and 4, the Hwa Kang Museum presents excellent exhibitions of well-known artists (4), traditional handicrafts and historical utensils of daily life (3), and faculty and students from both sides of the Taiwan Straits (1). On 1st floor of Da Cheng building, the latest study and research results will be on display. The library will show a selection of new books in Chinese and Western languages, and the College of Journalism and Communication will prepare an exhibition of graduation works.

Moreover, many interesting activities will be conducted on campus between 9:00am and 4.00pm, including:

  • Under the motto: “The beauty of Hwa Kang”, pictures showing elements of the Hwa Kang environment can be watched in Da En building, Chuan hall.
  • In Da Cheng building’s Xing Zhong hall, a robots’ performance and competition will take place from 10:00am-4.00pm.
  • In front of Da Yi building, at the Bai Hua Chi pond, a variety of activities on different topics will be presented
  • In Da Dian building, 1st floor, university books and CCU memorabilia can be purchased on special sales markets from 8:30am-4.30pm.
