Celebrating CCU 54th Anniversary

On 1st of March 2016, Chinese Culture University is going to celebrate its 54th anniversary. Every year, faculty and staff, CCU Alumni and Sister Universities’ representatives are getting together to enjoy the festive atmosphere on Yang Ming Shan campus.

The official ceremony will be preceded by an honorary salute to the Founder’s Memorial Garden at 9:30am, before the guests assemble in Bo-Ying hall on 8th floor of Da Xiao building at 10.00am. Awards and gratitude will be presented for outstanding performances of faculty and students, generous provision of scholarship funds, as well as for engagement in the sector of environmental protection. The great arena on 2nd floor will then be converted into a huge dining hall for the attendants to indulge in a delicious luncheon from 12:00-2.00pm.

Besides, a broad range of activities invites all guests to learn more about CCU and the Hwa Kang community culture from 9:00-4:00pm: In its galleries on floors 1, 3 and 4, the Hwa Kang Museum presents excellent exhibitions of well-known artists, traditional handicrafts and historical utensils of daily life. On 1st floor of Da Cheng building, the College of Social Sciences will show the results of its activities during 2015. In Da-Dian building, students of the Department of Design will put their works on display on 7th floor, while books and print works of the university will be on special sale on first floor. Calligraphy can be seen and tried on first floor of the Hsiao Feng Memorial building (library) from 10:00-11:00am, and student associations will offer beverages all over the campus from 9:00am-4:00pm.

Moreover, a series of congresses and symposia will be held throughout the following days and weeks:

Scholars and experts from around the world are going to discuss issues of contemporary research interest, such as international peace building, economic transformation and innovation, trends of modern design, climate change, and more. All departments of the CCU colleges are contributing to the overall schedule from their specific research angle. The whole series of activities will last throughout the spring term until this year's annual alumni gathering in late June, to be held in Malaysia.
