Promoting Higher Living Quality and a Healthy Life Philosophy

CCU values student on-hand guidance and has put in place an extensive guidance counseling system. As a way to help teacher-counselors to develop counseling skills, workshops are held periodically on such issues and themes as relieving social and academic pressure, class management, emotion management, relationship between the opposite sexes, interpersonal relationship, and career planning. Teachers pay monthly visits to students living in off-campus housing. To help students develop a healthy view of life, the university offers on a daily basis a column entitled “Well-rounded Personal Education,” under the four main categories of law, conscience, ethics and environmental protection. The Overseas Section and the Student Guidance Center provide services and guidance to overseas, foreign, and disabled students to help them adapt smoothly to living and learning in the university setting.

Developing Student Potential for Living and Career Planning

Volunteer training programs are periodically held to encourage students participate enthusiastically in social services. Lively workshops on counseling are given to help students along in developing counseling skills. Workshops on career planning, relationship between the two sexes, and creativity are held to facilitate students in making an early career plan. By viewing films under the guidance of counselors, students share their ideas with both teachers and peers as a way to develop and come to a better understanding of what constitutes a healthy and more creative and productive view of life. Thought-provoking and stimulating books are introduced whenever and wherever possible and available. ▲top

Encouraging Participation in Extra-curricular Activities as Enrichment of Life

The university has 171 extra-curricular clubs and associations that can be classified into such categories as academic, recreational, service, research, relationships, and physical training and development. Students are thus given the opportunity to evolve leadership and service ability skills, and the more outstanding among them are rewarded with various awards. Club-related workshops on such themes as leadership training and meeting regulations and skills, art design, and recreational activities are periodically offered. ▲top
