Under the motto “Ideas Worth Spreading”, the nonprofit organization TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) 25 years ago started to devote itself to supporting world-changing ideas. The annual TED Conference invites the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes, and their talks are then made available for free, at TED.com. Following this spirit TED has also created a program called TEDx, encouraging people to host local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. TedxCCU has begun in 2010, bringing together experts and interested students from all disciplines.

Every year in November, a whole day is arranged for young people to participate, called TedYouth. It includes lectures, all kinds of activities, entertainment, and expert exchange with the audience. TEDYouth 2014 chose the topic Worlds Imagined, and the event will take place in New York’s Brooklyn Museum. The theme is licensed to organizers worldwide, and CCU’s Creative Industries Center will host the TEDxYouthDay@CCU. The event will be broadcasted for free.
